Souji Miyamoto, a university student, is transported to another world after attempting a test swing with an imitation sword he bought on impulse. Because he arrived right in the middle of a hero summoning ritual for a certain kingdom, Souji is mistaken for the chosen hero. However, through a twist of fate, the princess discovers he is an impostor. Holding his life over his head—threatening execution if his true identity is revealed—she forces Souji to embark on a quest to defeat the Demon King. To make matters worse, every member of the hero's party is incredibly eccentric and difficult to deal with...!? With his imitation-turned-cursed sword in hand, the journey of a fake hero starts now!
