In a society where the existence of spirits—earthbound, guardian, and wandering—has been scientifically proven, Tokyo officially redefines them as “Hanako” and establishes a special countermeasure division. Their mission on paper is to capture and protect these entities, but in reality it is nothing more than sanctioned hunts and disposals, turning spirits into targets.
